Quality

Selecting 320 kbps on a low-quality source won't improve the audio.

How it works

  1. Drop in your video (MP4, MOV, WebM…) or audio file.
  2. Pick a quality preset.
  3. Click Extract — your MP3 is ready to download.

Convert MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, M4A, WAV and other formats to MP3 directly in your browser. Choose 128 kbps for small files, 192 kbps for a balanced default, or 320 kbps for the highest quality. The entire conversion happens on your device — nothing is uploaded to any server. No watermarks, no signup, no waiting in a queue.

Frequently asked questions

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The file never leaves your device unless you click "Share via capshare".

Which bitrate should I pick?

192 kbps is a good default — small enough for sharing, high enough for transparent audio. Use 128 kbps if you need to minimize file size, or 320 kbps if the source is high quality and you care about pristine playback.

What input formats are supported?

Any common video format (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, FLV) and audio format (M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC, OPUS). If your browser can play it, FFmpeg can convert it.

How large a file can I convert?

Soft cap is 500 MB on desktop and 50 MB on mobile, to stay within browser memory limits. For most music videos and podcast clips that's plenty.

Why does the first use download about 30 MB?

That's the FFmpeg engine. It's cached after the first visit, so subsequent uses start instantly.
