How it works
- Drop in a video file.
- Set your start and end time.
- Click Trim — your clip is ready to download.
Trim MP4, MOV, WebM, and other video files directly in your browser. Choose Fast mode for instant trimming (keyframe-aligned, no quality loss) or Precise mode for frame-accurate cuts. Nothing is uploaded — your video stays on your device. No signup, no watermark, no file size game.
Frequently asked questions
Does my video get uploaded?
No. The entire trim happens in your browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to any server unless you click "Share via capshare".
What's the difference between Fast and Precise mode?
Fast mode uses stream-copy — no re-encoding, so it finishes in seconds with zero quality loss, but the cut snaps to the nearest keyframe (usually within 1–2 seconds of your target). Precise mode re-encodes for an exact start frame, but takes longer.
What video formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, and most other common formats. Output is always MP4 for maximum compatibility.
Is there a file size limit?
Soft limit is 500MB on desktop, 50MB on mobile, to stay within browser memory. For very large files, Fast mode is recommended — it processes almost any size quickly.
Why does the first use download about 30 MB?
That's the FFmpeg WebAssembly engine. It's cached after the first visit, so subsequent uses start instantly.
